ABOUT AIDSWALK

For the last 20 years, Marylanders have put their best foot forward and supported HERO's annual AIDSWALK. More than $4,000,000 has been raised to support the programs and services HERO provides to over 3,000 clients annually.

By taking part in this event, participants can have the satiisfaction of knowing that their efforts have made a significant contribution to the quality of life of those living with HIV/AIDS.

THE THEME

This years AIDSWALK theme is “The Family Reunion”.  We are focusing on family relationships and the strength that comes from strong families and healthy support systems. HERO, Inc. uses a holistic pproach to help our clients. We realize tat we cannot only treat our client’s HIV/AIDS and expect to have successful results. We must work with our clients and their families by providing access to affordable and safe housing, treating substance abuse, job training, and providing a support structure. This approach allows us to address all of the client’s issues and help that person oercome the challenges they face.

Every family is affected by HIV/AIDS, and this year we encourage your family to join our family and walk for this very important cause.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Here's what you can do:

Find sponsors and collect pledges. Ask co-workers, family and friends. Send out an email to all your contacts. AIDSWALK is a straight pledge walk which means you collect one flat amount, its not based on how far you walk.Go a step further. Organize a team. Teams are a great way to join together with friends, family, neighbors, etc. for a day of exercise, fun and fundraising.Volunteer to help out the day of the AIDSWALK.
